Privacy Policy
Effective: 09/01/2026 | Last updated: 09/15/2026
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") governs how Advaitha LLC ("Company," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use the Purgli Mobile application ("App"), a product of Advaitha LLC, including all associated features, services, and content accessible through the App (collectively, the "Service").
What is Purgli?
Purgli is a photo library scanner application that helps users find and clean up unwanted photos in their camera roll through on-device image analysis and machine learning. All scanning happens on your device — photos never leave your phone.
Scope of This Policy
This Policy applies to:
- All users of the Purgli Mobile App (iOS and Android)
- All information collected through the App or associated services
- All interactions with our servers, APIs, and third-party integrations
Important Notice
Please read this Policy carefully. By accessing or using Purgli, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our privacy practices, please do not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
Account Registration (Optional)
- Email address
- Account credentials (for Supabase authentication)
- Account preferences and settings
- Billing and payment information (processed by third-party payment processors)
Scanning Metadata (Stored Locally)
- File hashes and perceptual hashes of your photos
- Detection results (duplicate clusters, blur scores, category classifications)
- Scan history and timestamps
- Embeddings cache from on-device ML models
- Your photos are NEVER stored — only metadata about them
Communication
- Messages you send to our customer support team
- Feedback, reviews, and suggestions you provide
- Communications regarding customer support inquiries
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Device Information
- Device type, model, and operating system version
- Unique device identifiers (IDFA, Android Advertising ID, and on Android the SSAID / ANDROID_ID). SSAID is hashed server-side and used only to bind the free Pro trial to this device so uninstalling cannot mint a new trial — not for advertising, and not shared with third parties
- Device settings and configurations
- Mobile network information
- Device storage and memory information
Usage Data
- Features and functions you access within the App
- Time spent on specific pages or features
- Scan frequency and duration
- Clicks, scrolling, and interaction patterns
- Session duration and frequency of use
- Whether you opened the App on a given day and, if that open came from one of Purgli's optional reminder notifications, which kind of reminder it was (for example a streak or weekly recap reminder) — used only to learn whether reminders are helpful. This record never includes photos, file names, counts, or anything a scan found, and applies to guest sessions as well as signed-in accounts
- App crash reports and performance data
Photos (Scanned Locally Only)
- Photos are accessed directly from your device's camera roll
- Photos are analyzed entirely on your device using on-device ML
- No full photos are stored by Purgli; only metadata is retained
- Thumbnails may be cached locally on your device for UI purposes

We do not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. We do not monetize your photos or scanning data.
5. Data Retention
5.1 Local Scanning Data
Scanning metadata (hashes, detection results, embeddings) is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database for as long as you use the App. You can clear this data at any time by signing out, deleting the app, or clearing app data through your device settings.
5.2 Cloud Sync Data
If you create an account and enable cloud sync, your scanning metadata is synced to our Supabase database. This data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, this data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
5.3 Deleted Photos (Recycle Bin)
Photos you delete through Purgli are moved to your device's recycle bin and retained for 30 days. After 30 days, they are permanently deleted from your device.
5.4 Transaction and Billing Records
We retain transaction and billing records as required by law and for fraud prevention purposes. These records are retained for a minimum of 3 years.
6. Data Security
6.1 On-Device Security
Since most of your data is stored locally on your device, Purgli's primary security responsibility is ensuring the app itself is secure:
- All local data is stored in a SQLite database on your device
- We do not store sensitive data in plaintext
- The app uses secure authentication via Supabase
- Regular security audits and penetration testing
6.2 Server-Side Security
We implement comprehensive technical and organizational security measures for cloud data:
Technical Safeguards
- TLS/SSL encryption for all data transmitted between your device and our servers
- AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest
- Firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and network segmentation
- Role-based access control and multi-factor authentication for employees
- Segregation of user data and environments
Administrative Safeguards
- Regular security awareness and privacy training for employees
- Vetting of personnel with access to sensitive data
- Non-disclosure agreements with all employees and contractors
- Regular internal and external security assessments
- Incident response procedures and breach notification protocols
6.3 Important Limitation
While we implement robust security measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. You use the Service at your own risk, and you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and device security.
