Terms of Service

2.1 Eligibility

You represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction).
• You have the legal authority to enter into these Terms.
• Your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations.

2.2 Account Creation (Optional)

The Service can be used as a guest without creating an account. To access certain features (such as Pro scanning features and account persistence across device reinstalls), you may create an account using one of the following authentication methods:

• Google Sign-In (via your existing Google account)
• Magic-link email (passwordless email-based sign-in)
• Supabase Authentication

2.3 One Account Per User

You agree to maintain only one personal Account. Creating multiple accounts or attempting to circumvent account limits is prohibited and may result in Account suspension or termination.

4.1 Local Processing Only

All photo scanning and analysis occurs entirely on your device using on-device machine learning models (tflite_flutter). Your photos are never uploaded to our servers, and no photo data ever leaves your device.

4.2 Metadata & Analysis Results

Purgli may store metadata about your photos (such as file hashes, duplicate clusters, and detection results) in a local SQLite database on your device. If you sign into an account and enable sync (Pro feature), this metadata is synced to our Supabase cloud database for cross-device access. Your actual photo files are never synced.

4.3 Accuracy Disclaimers

AI-generated detection results (duplicate identification, blur scoring, category classification) are provided for convenience only and may be inaccurate. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of detection results for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing detection results before deleting photos.

5.1 Pro Tier Features

Pro subscription unlocks the following features:

• Advanced duplicate detection and near-duplicate clustering
• Refined blur detection with confidence scoring
• Cloud sync and cross-device access to your scanning history
• Access to all premium detection categories

5.2 Free Trial

Every user receives a 30-day free trial of Pro features. The trial begins when you first launch the app (as a guest or signed-in user). Signing in does not reset the trial clock. When the trial expires, you must subscribe to maintain Pro feature access.

5.3 Subscription Billing

Pro subscriptions are billed through Google Play Billing (Android) or the App Store (iOS). By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. Your subscription auto-renews unless you cancel it within your device's app store settings.

5.4 Cancellation & Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store settings. Refund requests must be directed to Google Play Support (Android) or Apple Support (iOS) within 15 minutes of purchase, as per their respective policies. Purgli does not issue refunds directly.

6.1 Your Photos & Metadata

You retain full ownership of your photos and all data associated with them. Purgli does not claim any ownership rights to your photos or metadata. By using the Service, you grant Purgli a non-exclusive, non-commercial license to access and analyze your photos solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

6.2 Local Storage & Cloud Sync

By default, all scanning results and metadata are stored only on your device. If you create an account and enable cloud sync (Pro feature), your metadata is mirrored to our Supabase cloud database. Your actual photo files remain on your device only.

6.3 Deletion Policy

When you delete a photo through Purgli, it is moved to your device's recycle bin and remains there for 30 days. After 30 days, the photo is permanently deleted from your device. Purgli does not maintain a secondary backup of deleted photos.

8.1 In-App & Push Notifications

Purgli may send you in-app notifications regarding scan results, storage insights, subscription status, and important app updates. Push notifications may be sent for critical alerts and service announcements.

8.2 Managing Notifications

You can manage push notification preferences in your device's system settings and within the App.

9.1 User-Initiated Deletion

You may delete your Account at any time through the App's settings. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Your cloud sync data will be permanently deleted from Supabase. Any active subscription will remain active until the renewal date (you must cancel through your device's app store to prevent renewal).

9.2 Company-Initiated Termination

We may suspend or terminate your Account if you violate these Terms, your Account is used for fraudulent purposes, or we determine that continued access poses a risk to the Service.

10.1 "As-Is" Disclaimer

The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.

10.2 Limitation of Liability

Purgli's total liability for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the amount you have paid to Purgli in the 12 months prior to the claim, or (b) $100 USD.

11.1 Governing Law

These Terms and your use of the Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, USA.

11.2 Mandatory Arbitration

You and Purgli agree to submit all disputes to binding arbitration rather than court proceedings. The arbitration will take place in Alexandria, Virginia.
